About

Born on June 15, 1970, in Cape Town, South Africa, Stephanie was raised in Johannesburg, where her artistic talents blossomed from an early age. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a genuine passion for design, she pursued a degree in Interior Design, laying the groundwork for a successful career in the creative industry. Stephanie established herself as an account manager and designer, collaborating with renowned brands such as Spur, Hard Rock Café, Milady’s, Stuttafords, Nino’s, and Wimpy, including Hoedspruit’s first African-themed Wimpy restaurant. Her innovative approach to space and design significantly contributed to the distinctive identities of these establishments. Driven by an adventurous spirit, Stephanie frequently stepped away from the corporate world to embrace diverse opportunities, including teaching scuba diving in Zanzibar and joining the Africam wildlife web camera team. These enriching experiences ultimately rekindled her passion for art. In 2017, her relocation from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit reignited her desire to reconnect with her artistic roots, leading her to explore her hidden talent for wildlife and portraiture art using pastel pencils. In early 2019, Stephanie attended an art course led by celebrated South African wildlife artist Warren Cary. By June of the same year, she joined the Warren Cary Wildlife Gallery as Art Curator and Consultant, where she honed her skills under Cary's mentorship. Her dedication to her craft is evident in her meticulously detailed artworks, which typically take an average of two months to complete. With a strong aesthetic sense and a profound connection to her subjects, Stephanie creates unique and striking pieces that reflect their character and beauty. Her artwork is characterized by vibrant colors and intricate details, capturing the essence of each subject with remarkable accuracy. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Stephanie is deeply committed to wildlife conservation. She has donated several artworks to raise funds for various conservation initiatives, with her notable piece, The Guardian, successfully raising R75,000 at auction. To date, her contributions have generated over R150,000 for conservation efforts, demonstrating her dedication to both art and the protection of wildlife. Stephanie's journey from a corporate designer to manager of the Warren Cary Wildlife Gallery and her passion as an artist showcases her versatility and commitment to her craft, making her a valuable addition to the gallery's collection.
