NIC WENTWORTH

I had an itch that lasted about 20 years. I was doing alright, but wasn’t truly fulfilled. I was a plumber – yes, a far cry from being an artist.
There is nothing wrong with being a plumber – hell, it’s a safe job! I even found satisfaction in beautiful level copper pipes and well laid drains. I could not, however, shake the desire to create something magical. I escaped back into the wild and now find myself happily working as a game ranger. In nature I feel at home and inspiration for my artwork is drawn from the animals I have come to know.
Was I an artist before I became a nature guide? I guess so. I did, however, grow to be competent in my artistry as I developed an understanding of our natural wildlife. I truly believe the one needed the other.
I now have the privilege of combining two things I love and appreciate – nature and art.
