About
Karin Dalta Krüger I was born in 1977 and grew up in the Kruger National Park where my father Kobus Krüger was a game ranger. Until I was fourteen years old we lived at Mahlangeni, an isolated game ranger station in the northwest region of the park. Going to school we had to cross the Greater Letaba river with a little boat. The hippos would protest and put on a threatening territorial show! After that we lived at Crocodile Bridge and later Pretoriuskop. Throughout the years a variety of strays and orphans from the animal kingdom were temporary members of our family. We also reared an orphaned lion cub, Leo. Leo taught me about emotional moods of wild animals as expressed by their eyes and body language. I realized that I wanted to spend my life drawing and painting the wild animals I came to know so well and the open spaces that calls to my being. I live in Noordhoek, Cape Town with my family and extended four legged family!
